2016-06-03 Mount Bryant

On Friday we rode 300 km south so Heather could see her friend at Murray Bridge. Came back Saturday. Took the more westerly scenic route via Angaston to Mount Pleasant there and our usual easterly route via Sedan back home https://goo.gl/maps/o6w5bwQno5L2

Our last stop before home was at Mount Bryan as the female toilets at Burra were locked - so while there I took a few photos.

2016-06-25 Paringa

On any other day this cold I would have stayed in bed for a little longer but we had this ride to do. Not impressed when I turned the PC on and saw the current temp in Peterborough was 0c but a little warmer than a 100kms away at Yunta which had -0.5c.

We had a frost overnight and the bike was covered in ice which a little warm water soon got rid off.

and a hint of low lying cloud across the road behind the old folks home but otherwise a sunny start to the day.

On the road at 9 am on the way to Burra for our usual rest stop which we just passed by and headed straight to Morgan where we stopped instead. Got held up for 10 minutes with some road works near Monash otherwise we had good run and arrived at 12:20pm.

Took these of our group inside - we had the place to ourselves

and the bikes; 4 x 1100s and 4 x 1300s

I had to cross the road for this one

On the way home I topped the tank worked out that we averaged 18.6 k/l (16.55 litres) from home to  Paringa and back to Renmark. Another brief stop at Morgan and we arrived home just after 6:00pm.

2017-05-28 Globe Hotel Yongala

This was our bike club meet and only few turned up and thanks to mikep and his son Alan, Bodø Glimt, Heather and her daughter Tammie for attending.

We weren't sure what the day was going to be like with some rainfall forecasted during the day. I had to take Heather over and then ride back to Peterborough to pick up Tammie and no rain. The girls were returned the same way after the RTE but riding back to pick Heather up I had about 9 km of rain (just as well we had our wet gear) and no rain with Heather on board for the last trip back home.

Not far from home this one

The hotel's wood fired heater based on a steam engine.

We had some live music as well

Mikes Honda ST1100 under cover, my 1100 and then Bodø's Kwaka (Kawasaki) all got washed while we were inside.

From left around the table are Tammie, Bodø, Mike, Alan and myself. Heather took the photo's

Taken across the road from the hotel. Heather was getting her wet gear on so I took this while I was waiting.

A couple of days before this the speedo drive cable failed so I need to get a new one and in the meantime I use a speedo app on the phone

2017-06-25 Ride to Clare, South Australia

We had ride to Clare so I could collect a new screen for my bike from one of our bike club members who lived in Adelaide. Clare is about halfway between home and the city which suited both Richo and myself.

The speedo cable that I ordered still had not arrived but Google Play had a few apps I could choose from so I downloaded the free version of DS Speedometer and it looks like this on my phone. It also gives maximum speed and average speed as well.

There's a public toilet with a car park at the northern end of the main street so we made that the meeting point.

After the screen was collected and we'd parted company Heather and I walked to the local bakery for something to eat.

After we got back home I took another pic of our fancy speedo. Average speed dropped because we stopped off at the Foodland supermarket in Jamestown.

The old lightly tinted screen which I bought in the later half of 2010 looks remarkably like the clear one I just collected. You can see the crazing that has happened and why wanted a new screen.

The new screen was fitted a few days later and I have a much view for the times I need to see through the screen
